Shipping and Returns

Domestic Shipping 

We ship as fast as we can, but due to the handmade nature of our products, our lead time is 5-10 working days after placing your order. Once your product is out of production, we will ship the product and send you an email with a tracking number. We ship via courier and guarantee that you will receive your order. Should your order get lost, we will replace your order immediately. Please contact us if you have any shipping questions.

General Return Policy 

If you purchased a product directly from us and you are not satisfied for any reason, return it to us, unused and in the condition you received it, within 30 days and we will issue a credit voucher or refund the amount to your card (no cash refunds given). 

If shipping your return please follow these steps. Please note Sealand is not liable for any shipping costs or any issues that may arise during the courier process. 

  1. Return to: The Sealand Campus, 144 Main Road, Hout Bay 7806
  2. Include the packing slip, along with reason for return. If you don't have the packing slip, please include your name, email address and order number if possible. 
  3. Email us at info@sealandgear.com or call us on 021 447 0714 with any additional questions. 

Returns and Replacements Online of Non-Defective and Defective Gear (this excludes apparel, headwear and accessories)

We will gladly accept returns within 30 days for any reason from shipping date. 

1. Return of Non-Defective Goods:

  • In the case of a customer returning a product for a reason other than a manufacturing fault, example would be that the customer is not happy with the aesthetic, the product must be returned in perfect condition without sign of usage and we will issue a credit to purchase something else at a later date or issue a refund to the same card used for purchase. 
  • If there are signs of usage or if the product is damaged by transport, we reserve the right to dismiss the product.
  • All return shipping costs will be incurred by the customer.
  • The customer will need to arrange that their product is shipped back to our head office.

2. Return of Defective Goods:

  • In the case of a customer returning a product as a result of a manufacturing defect, Sealand will repair the product.
  • The customer will need to arrange that their product is shipped back to our head office for repair. 
  • Our return head office address is: The Sealand Campus, 144 Main Road, Hout Bay, 7806
  • Sealand will then arrange that the product is returned to the customer once it has been repaired.

Sealand Apparel Return Policy

You are welcome to exchange any unwanted apparel piece at no charge, provided that:

  • We offer 30-day returns and exchanges both in-store and online. Returns can be processed at any of our stores or via email at info@sealandgear.com.
  • If applicable, the product must be in its original packaging with tags attached, as well as your receipt.
  • The goods are unused and undamaged.

All returned goods are inspected to ensure they meet these criteria. Sealand reserves the right to refuse a return if the product shows signs of use, is damaged, or is not in its original packaging or there is no receipt.

Exclusions for Apparel Product Defects

A product defect specifically excludes damage resulting from:

  • Normal wear and tear,
  • Alterations to the product,
  • Negligence, incorrect use, or abuse of the product,
  • Failure to follow proper wash and care instructions.

Return of Sale and Sample Sale Items (Excluding Apparel) 

All purchases of sample sale and sale items are considered final sale and cannot be returned for a refund, exchange, or store credit, unless otherwise stated herein.

Evergreen Guarantee 

Our Evergreen Guarantee is a lifetime warranty that extends to all of Sealand’s gear (excluding apparel, headwear and accessories). A lifetime to us, and our Sealand gear, is ten years of use. Our materials are durable and weather-resistant, however, if you run into an issue with your product we are more than happy to repair it. We cover any material or workmanship defect, however, any personal damages, third-party damages, or staining/fading will not be covered. Please refer to our ‘Warranty and Care’ page for more details.

Please note that repairs won't be processed without purchase date as well as proof of purchase.
